Changi Airport Group has been awarded the accolade of the 2nd Most Attractive Employer in Singapore by Randstad Employer Brand Research this year. This is the eighth consecutive year that CAG has been ranked among the top three employers.

In another survey by S100 Leading Graduate Employers, CAG ranked 1st and 2nd place respectively for the Aviation, Transport & Supply Chain and the Hospitality, Leisure & Tourism sectors.

Despite the headwinds the travel and aviation sector have been facing during the Covid-19 pandemic, CAG continues to remain among the most attractive employers in Singapore. This can be attributed to strong employee engagement and attention to employee well-being, which are also key drivers to sustaining high work productivity and business performance.

Employee Empowerment

As new norms are adopted for work arrangements, flexibility in terms of work hours and location remain key to empowering employees in managing their own schedules in the most optimal manner.

With this flexibility, employees with school going children can opt for an earlier start after sending their children to school and ending work early to pick their children from after-school care and have dinner together. For fitness buffs, it allows them to spend some gym time at Changi’s recreation club or run or cycle at the Changi Airport Connector at the start or end of their workday.

To encourage an active lifestyle, employees can make use of facilities such as bath amenities and bicycle lockers at a special staff rate

Employee Wellbeing

In addition to complimentary basic health screening for all employees and their dependents, CAG has a workplace health promotion programme in place, designed to meet the varied interests of its employees and their lifestyles.

While the in-office ‘Fun Fridays’ casual hang out sessions were not possible anymore, employees stepped forward to facilitate online get-together sessions. These included yoga sessions by an employee who is also a yoga-certified instructor, a hands-on healthy cooking class, and meditation sessions. A fun “No Potato” step challenge was also held to encourage employees to clock their daily steps. CAG’s social networking app, In.Touch, also allowed employees to easily connect with one another

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, care packs and anti-stress tea bags were distributed to its employees.

Workplace Wellness

Apart from a biophilic design-centric workplace, there are acoustically padded quiet rooms for employees who are looking to work in a distraction-free zone, specially designed spaces for group discussions, and well-stocked pantries with healthy snacks for employees.

The office is also equipped with the latest video conferencing capabilities to facilitate hybrid meetings among colleagues or with partners based overseas. With restricted return-to-work measures in place, CAG’s in-house app, CAGWorks! allows staff to submit their health declaration, easily book a slot to return to office, and provides a view of their teammates’ scheduled returns, making it more convenient to co-ordinate meetings and discussions.

Goh Hwai Kar, CAG’s Senior Vice President for People Services & Rewards, said, “Being awarded this employer accolade is a great encouragement to all our employees and a strong testament to our efforts in making CAG a great place to work as we adapt to new norms. Apart from looking after our physical terminals at Changi Airport, we place great emphasis on building “Terminal H” or a ‘Heartware’ culture that fosters strong meaningful relationships among colleagues.”

As the future of work continues to evolve in this pandemic, CAG will strive to remain an attractive employer of choice in this race for talent.
